About

Prof. Dr. Zoltán Kónya is a Professor at the University of Szeged (SZTE) and serves as Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation. He graduated with a degree in Chemistry from JATE in 1994, obtained his PhD in 1997, and was awarded the Doctor of Science (DSc) degree of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 2011. In addition to his outstanding research and teaching activities, he plays an active role in the scientific and strategic development of the university. His professional work focuses primarily on nanotechnology, surface chemistry, heterogeneous catalysis, and materials science. In 2025, he was elected a Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Through his leadership and scientific activities at the University of Szeged, he plays a significant role in strengthening the institution’s professional and academic relationships both nationally and internationally.
