Dr. Ágnes Viola Riskó

Dr. Ágnes Viola Riskó is a clinical psychologist, psychotherapist, and training analyst of the Hungarian Psychoanalytical Society. She is widely recognized as a pioneer and leading authority in the field of psycho-oncology in Hungary.

She earned her degree in psychology and her doctorate from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, followed by specializations in clinical psychology and psychotherapy. Starting in 1990, she dedicated decades of her career to the Lymphoma Center at the National Institute of Oncology (NIO) in Budapest. In 1992, she became one of the first psychologists in the country to be fully integrated as a permanent member of a multidisciplinary oncological medical team, laying the foundations for structured psycho-oncological care.Her specialized expertise focuses on providing crisis intervention and emotional support for cancer patients and their families, trauma and anxiety processing, and preventing burnout among healthcare professionals.

Dr. Riskó is the author of numerous fundamental textbooks and academic papers (including Psychoanalytic Psycho-oncology). She is a frequent lecturer at universities and national conferences, and is actively dedicated to utilizing innovative, digital solutions to share vital psycho-oncological knowledge with both professionals and the wider public.
