Zsombor Kovacs is a security specialist with around 15 years of hands-on experience in practical security testing, with a main focus on application and infrastructure evaluation, conducting penetration tests on a daily basis. He has been working for a variety of companies both in size and profile, often on really strange jobs. He has laid in the cold mud at 2am with a considerably sized yagi antenna, trying to find a wireless network beside a German natural gas distribution centre. He has run in suit from an assortment of security guards after a failed social engineering attempt and at one glorious occasion, he has talked himself into the VIP section of the Emirates Stadium in London. Currently, he is working as the Chief Research Officer at MRG Effitas.

As a consultant, Zsombor has worked with clients in several different sectors, including telecommunications, banking, government, insurance, commerce and industry. He was having his time doing field work, kneeling in the mud with an antenna for wireless assignments, but for now, his main focus is Android malware and all the badness that can happen to your beloved corporate smartphone. His hobby is killing with Power Point bullets. Beside his main area, he also has been involved in projects dealing with incident response, forensic engineering, reversing and physical security. He is also a keen lockpicker. Recently, Zsombor got involved in penetration tests performed on mobile device (both iOS and Android) applications and secure coding trainings.
