Dr. Péter Horváth serves as the State Secretary for Science Policy and Innovation at the Ministry of Science and Technology of Hungary, a position he has held since May 2026. In this role, he oversees the strategic development and funding of the national research, development, and innovation ecosystem. Prior to his government appointment, he established a distinguished international career as a computer scientist and artificial intelligence researcher. He previously served as the Director of the Institute of Biochemistry at the HUN-REN Biological Research Centre in Szeged, and as a Principal Investigator at Helmholtz Munich. His scientific work focuses on machine learning and image analysis applications in life sciences and computational health.
