Tamás Parti PhD

Parti Tamás, PhD, is a lawyer/notary public and legal expert in data science. He obtained his doctoral degree with a dissertation on the property-law adaptation of digital data and data-based assets. He currently serves as Head of the Data Research Sub-Institute of the Hungarian Chamber of Civil Law Notaries (MOKK), President of the Futurology Forum of the Council of the Notariats of the European Union (CNUE), and CNUE representative in the UNCITRAL Working Group on Data Provisioning Contracts and in the European Commission’s expert group on AI Contracting. He is also a member of the Arbitration Court of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Parti Tamás has 35 years of professional experience in the practice of law, including five years in criminal law and thirty years in civil law. In addition, he conducts research at the MOKK Data Research Sub-Institute and teaches as an external lecturer at several leading Hungarian universities, including the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, as well as the faculties of law of Eötvös Loránd University, the University of Miskolc, Pázmány Péter Catholic University, and Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church in Hungary.

He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and co-author of professional legal books, as well as the author of the monograph The Property-Law Adaptation of Digital Data and Data-Based Assets in Light of the Property-Law Interactions of Digital Assets. His teaching and research focus on digitalization and the development of private law. As a researcher with a forensic perspective, his work examines the interactions between legal systems and data-driven phenomena at the intersection of law, economics, data science, and complex systems theory.
