Gyula Király

Gyula Király is an engineer, economic engineer, and healthcare manager. He earned his degrees from Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Semmelweis University. He is a co-owner and executive of several software development and IT companies, including Hospitaly Healthcare Informatics Ltd. For five years, he served as Deputy Director General for IT and Records Management at the National Health Insurance Fund of Hungary (now the National Health Insurance Fund Administration, NEAK). His main areas of expertise include e-health and m-health, the design and development of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, healthcare Big Data, leading patient pathway optimization projects, and providing IT support for medical technology research and development. Alongside his business activities, he is actively involved in university education. He has been teaching at the Health Services Management Training Centre of Semmelweis University for more than 25 years and has been an external lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Automation at Széchenyi István University for more than 30 years. In 2021, he was awarded the title of Honorary Associate Professor by the university. Since 2023, he has served as Head of the Department of Medical Technology Industry at Óbuda University, where he has also been awarded the title of Honorary Associate Professor.
