GLAMOUR
Krisztina Maróy has been one of the most influential and versatile figures in the Hungarian media industry for more than two decades. She is consistently ranked among Hungary's most influential digital professionals by Marketing&Média. After earning her degree in Hungarian Language and Literature and Aesthetics from Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE), she built her career in editorial and visual media within an international environment, including professional experience at the fashion editorial office of British Vogue.Since 2004, she has served as the founding Editor-in-Chief of the Hungarian edition of GLAMOUR. She is also the creator of GLAMOUR Days, which has grown into one of Hungary's largest retail and consumer experience events.
From the outset, Maróy has shaped GLAMOUR not only as an international media brand but also as a platform for social impact. Through the magazine and its digital ecosystem, she champions women's rights, equality, empathy, and inclusion. She is also a committed age activist, advocating for the visibility of women over 50 and working to challenge age-related stereotypes and social prejudice.
For six years, she led the Ringier-Axel Springer Digital Media Campus, where she played a key role in accelerating the digital transformation of a traditionally print-focused publishing company. She firmly believes that, in the age of artificial intelligence and rapid technological change, the offline knowledge, professional judgment, and deep experience of older generations are irreplaceable assets. Rejecting superficial generational hype, she argues that the future depends not on placing leadership exclusively in the hands of those under thirty, but on genuine, reciprocal knowledge sharing and collaboration across generations.
Maróy earned her PhD from Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). Her solution-oriented dissertation, T-Shirts, Platforms and Politics: The Social Transformative Power of Fashion, explores the profound transformation of fashion's social, communicative, and economic role. The research proposes a new framework primarily for designers, demonstrating how they can rethink and reshape the world around us in response to climate change and the ecological crisis.
