Áron Kristóf Ghimessy, MD, PhD, MBA, FEBTS is Head of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at the National Institute of Oncology in Budapest, Director of its robotic surgery programme and Deputy Medical Director. He is a board-certified thoracic surgeon (2020) and clinical oncologist (2026), and was awarded his PhD summa cum laude.
He played an active role in introducing robotic surgery in Hungary and currently leads his institute’s robotic surgery programme. His main areas of interest are minimally invasive and robotic surgery, oncological treatments and AI-based surgical solutions.
