István Herbály is the Chair of the Innovation Committee of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MKIK) and Vice President for Innovation at the Pécs-Baranya Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He plays a significant role in advancing corporate innovation and digital transformation in Hungary. With more than two decades of professional experience in industrial informatics, Industry 4.0, and enterprise digitalization, he actively works to strengthen the competitiveness of Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises through technological innovation.He built his professional foundation through degrees in Computer Engineering and Mathematical Programming, providing him with a deep understanding of data-driven systems and industrial applications of artificial intelligence. As the founder and Managing Director of Contrall Industrial Informatics Ltd., he has led the digital transformation of numerous manufacturing companies, with a particular focus on implementing manufacturing management systems (ERP/MES), improving operational efficiency, and advancing automation.A key focus of his work is the development of AI-driven industrial solutions, particularly in machine vision, automated quality control, and data-driven decision support. Among the projects he has led are innovative systems that demonstrate the tangible business value of artificial intelligence in real manufacturing environments, providing companies with measurable competitive advantages.As a key contributor to the innovation activities of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, István Herbály actively participates in the development of national research, development, and business support programs. He has contributed to several initiatives aimed at enhancing the innovation capabilities of SMEs, establishing standardized assessment methodologies, and educating business decision-makers on the practical application of emerging technologies, particularly digitalization and artificial intelligence.

In his presentation, István Herbály will showcase practical applications of artificial intelligence in manufacturing through real industrial case studies. He will demonstrate how AI is becoming an integral part of everyday business operations, the specific business outcomes organizations can achieve through its implementation, and the key success factors that transform technological developments into sustainable competitive advantages.
