About

Dr. Kichan Kang is a Principal Researcher and Manager at the Gyeonggi Smart Manufacturing Innovation Center of Gyeonggi Technopark, a public innovation agency of Gyeonggi Province, Korea. Since joining GTP in 2009, he has led a wide range of regional innovation programmes for manufacturing SMEs — including the Gyeonggi Smart Factory Comprehensive Support Program (2023–present), Korea's national Smart Factory Deployment Program led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) (2022), the Gyeonggi Technology Doctor Program (a benchmarked SME technical support model, presented at an international conference (IASP & ASPA joint conference) in Perth, Australia in 2010), and earlier initiatives in drone, 3D printing, energy, and industry-academia clusters. He holds a Ph.D. in Energy and Policy from Tech University of Korea, with research on carbon neutrality and digital transformation in global steel companies.
