Dr Irén Rövid

Dr. Irén Rövid is a singles researcher, the creator of the first Hungarian singles map, the founder of szingliterkep.hu, and a PhD in sociology. She earned her PhD in 2020 at the Doctoral School of Demography and Sociology of the University of Pécs. During her doctoral research, she began focusing on single life, the characteristics of singles in Hungary, and the challenges of finding a partner. Based on census data, she created the first Hungarian singles map to show how many people live without a partner. Her professional career has been strongly shaped by the research and analytical experience she gained at the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, as well as by the opportunity to represent the Office as its spokesperson.
